What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants such as vitamins, secondary plant substances (polyphenols) or protein precursors such as glutathione are natural “rust inhibitors” and protect all naturally occurring organisms from attacks by free radicals – aggressive, reactive and harmful molecules that are produced in the human body as a result of stress, poor nutrition, environmental toxins and as degradation products of most metabolic processes (cell respiration/oxidation).

Active hydrogen is a superior antioxidant
Colloidal cluster structures, such as those found in silicon compounds, are naturally amorphous and therefore adsorb substances very easily. For this reason, colloidal silicon dioxide tends to loosely bind hydrogen particles during conventional hydrogenation, for example, and in particular to “store” them as hydride ions (H-).
