Healthy Drinks for Hot Days – Our Tips
It doesn’t always have to be good purified water. However, filtered and high-quality water should always be the basis for all your drink alternatives. In addition to the removal of pollutants and bacteria, an important remineralization also takes place. The right foundation for healthy drinks, delicious teas, refreshing spritzers, and nutritious shakes.
The Classic: Tea Blends
Especially in southern and Arab countries, enjoying warm teas on hot days is a tried-and-tested way to reduce the body’s own heat production. What may sound somewhat illogical to us, however, has a simple physiological basis. When you drink warm beverages in high temperatures, our body receives an additional heat signal and reduces its own heat generation. The additional sweating also cools the organism and helps ensure that the circulatory system is not put under additional strain.
However, since warm teas on hot summer days are not everyone’s cup of tea, we would like to recommend lukewarm and, now and then, cool unsweetened fruit, herbal, as well as black and green teas. With fresh mint, lemon balm, or grated ginger, you also get a refreshing aroma and delicious tea blends.
Summer Refreshment: Flavored Water
Do you also love refreshing spritzers? But, like us, would you prefer to avoid sugar & co.? Then there is a wonderful alternative: flavored water. In addition to great flavors, there are no limits to your imagination. Whether water with pomegranate seeds, or with mint and ginger, or frozen raspberries and blueberries – these healthy spritzers are a great way to “pimp” your filtered and purified water.
Would you like a little inspiration? Then our recipe for pomegranate water below may help you:
- Remove the top of a pomegranate, cut through the peel, and then break open the fruit. Now remove the seeds from the fruit and place them in a water jug.
- Now peel 30 g of ginger and cut it into thin slices.
- Now wash a lime and cut it into slices. Add it to a water jug together with the ginger.
- Fill the jug with 2 liters of water and let your spritzer steep in the refrigerator. The longer the water steeps, the stronger the flavor will become.
