For a healthy and strong heart

13 tips for the engine of your life

It is the symbol of love and the engine of our life: the heart. As our most important organ, a strong, healthy heart is the foundation for a vital and long life. To keep it healthy for a long time and prevent cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure, stroke, or heart attack, we need to cherish and care for our heart. With our tips, you can easily and simply do something for your heart in everyday life.

Working around the clock: Your heart

Our heart is a true marvel. It works around the clock, transports blood through our circulatory system, and supplies our organs and tissues with vital oxygen and nutrients via a sophisticated vascular system. In an adult at rest, it beats about 60 to 80 times per minute and around 100,000 times a day. About five to six liters of blood flow through our body; when we exert ourselves physically, it can be up to 30 liters per minute.

To reliably perform at this high level, the heart needs a great deal of oxygen and above-average blood flow. Healthy blood vessels, good blood flow properties, and functioning cellular metabolism, in which all cells are adequately supplied with oxygen, are therefore closely linked to the health of our heart.

Did you know…?

When we listen to music, our heartbeat adapts to the rhythm of the sounds. Classical music, for example, lowers pulse and blood pressure, while activating music speeds up our heartbeat.

When two people in love look into each other’s eyes for three minutes, their heartbeats synchronize.

An unconscious lifestyle and diet can harm our heart, often with serious consequences. Cardiovascular diseases have been the number one cause of death in this country for many years. Yet many diseases could be prevented easily and effectively with the right lifestyle.

13 tips for a strong and healthy heart

Our heart has always been considered the seat of emotions. You have probably experienced this yourself: when we act against the voice of our heart, we usually do not feel particularly good about it. Conversely, this means: for our heart health, anything is good and allowed that truly makes our heart beat faster—beyond addictions, beliefs, and learned behaviors:

1. Movement brings blessings

Regular exercise is the foundation for a healthy and strong heart. Physical activity increases our pulse because the body needs to be supplied with more oxygen. When we are physically active on a regular basis, the heart muscle adapts to the higher load, with a positive result: at rest, pulse and blood pressure decrease, and the heart is under less strain. But don’t worry: you don’t have to become a high-performance athlete. About two and a half hours of exercise per week, or 20 to 30 minutes a day, is already enough to strengthen your heart and keep it healthy. Sports such as swimming, cycling, Nordic walking, jogging, hiking, or strength training are particularly suitable.

With regular physical exertion, our body inevitably also needs more nutrients. Our high-quality vital products provide targeted support for building your muscles, endurance, and concentration—for example our protein product MyAMINO®, with the world’s highest protein nutritional value of 99 percent and a nitrogen waste value of only 1 percent!

2. Say goodbye to belly fat and excess weight

It has been proven that severe excess weight, even at a younger age, promotes the development of cardiovascular diseases and thus also heart failure. Belly fat is particularly harmful to our heart. A normal body weight—with a BMI between 18.5 and 24—is a good prerequisite for a healthy and strong heart. A healthy waist circumference is also important. It should not exceed 94 cm for men and 80 cm for women.
The ideal basis for healthy weight reduction or weight control without the yo-yo effect and hunger is a ketogenic diet in combination with our MyAMINO®. The ketogenic diet relies on a consistently low-carbohydrate diet, which relieves and thus strengthens the metabolism and heart in the long term. Targeted protein supply with MyAMINO® promotes the body’s own detoxification and cleansing process while also giving you a pleasant feeling of satiety.

3. Get fresh air regularly

Spending time outdoors is not only good for the mind and soul, but also a blessing for our heart. After all, it needs enough oxygen to work healthily and powerfully. In addition, daylight outside stimulates vitamin D production through our skin and activates the neurotransmitter serotonin, which brightens our mood.

Our highly effective vital complex VitaDK plus reliably supplies you all year round with vitamins D3 and K2 as well as the important cofactors magnesium, zinc, and boron for optimal effectiveness and bioavailability. You can learn more about the sunshine vitamin in our article Vitamin D – the sunshine vitamin for the whole year.

4. Take a deep breath

Most of us have become accustomed to breathing incorrectly: we breathe too briefly and too shallowly, merely lifting the chest. The result: our cells are not supplied with enough oxygen, which can damage the heart in the long run. We also retain too much carbon dioxide in the organism, a metabolic product of our body. The more consciously and deeply we breathe, and the longer the pauses between individual breaths, the more the heart rate decreases, which in turn has a positive effect on our health and life expectancy. For this, we recommend the book by Ralph Skuban: The Buteyko Method.

5. Support the body’s own detoxification…

Every day, each of us absorbs a wide range of environmental toxins and harmful environmental influences through food, breathing, or the skin. These also have an impact on the health of our heart. This is because our cardiovascular system and our breathing have to work hard to transport toxins out of the body again. That is why it is also very important for our heart that we regularly support and relieve our body’s own detoxification system. Our dr.reinwald metabolic program was specially designed to support the body’s ability to detoxify without placing additional strain on it from the released pollutants. To achieve this, we rely on specially developed preparations, confirmed in studies, with a high binding capacity for unwanted substances that act on various levels.

6. Sleep your way to fitness and health

Healthy sleep is important so that our organism can regenerate sufficiently. During the night’s rest, heartbeat and blood pressure decrease, and our heart can also recover. In addition to sufficient sleep—between six and nine hours depending on the type—and regular sleep times, sleep should also be truly restorative. A cool, quiet, and darkened room and avoiding electronic devices in the bedroom can support this. By the way: it has been found that a regular midday nap of about 20 minutes can further reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Our pineal gland is responsible for producing the sleep hormone melatonin. With the targeted intake of nutrients such as magnesium, boron, and selenium—as found, for example, in our Active H® night—you can gently and effectively stimulate your pineal gland and thus the production of melatonin. You can learn more about the small gland in our brain and its importance for our sleep-wake rhythm in our article The pineal gland – the shimmering pacemaker of the inner clock.

7. Strengthen your heart muscle with proteins

Proteins are the primary building material of our cells. Proteins, which consist of amino acids, are also absolutely essential for the development and functionality of our muscles. If there is an undersupply of protein, our body breaks down valuable muscle mass, and heart diseases such as cardiac arrhythmias or heart failure can result. That is why you should make sure you get an adequate supply of high-quality proteins.

With MyAMINO®, we have developed a globally unique protein product that allows you to supply your body with a high proportion of highly pure amino acids, almost without nitrogen waste (< 1%) and without digestive end products in the intestine. This relieves not only the liver and kidneys, but also digestion and the cardiovascular system. In our article, you can learn more reasons why amino acids are so important: Why are amino acids so important for our body.

8. Smoking harms the heart

Smoking promotes the narrowing of the arteries and worsens oxygen transport to the heart. It is therefore one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases such as stroke and heart attack. But it is never too late to stop, and every smoke-free day makes our heart happy.

Anyone who stops smoking should also support their body in eliminating the harmful substances. Our vital product of choice here is our PektiCLEAN® micro! With 100% natural pectin fiber, it has an enormously high degree of effectiveness in dissolving, binding, and eliminating unwanted substances and acts directly in the serum and at the cellular level. In the video with Dr. Heinz Reinwald, you can learn more about harmful environmental toxins and how you can eliminate them with natural means: Environmental toxins – active ingredients from nature

9. De-stress and slow down your life

Our heart reacts very sensitively to external influences. Naturally, this also includes stress. High blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, heart attack, or other cardiovascular diseases can be the result of prolonged overload and excessive demands. After all, our heart needs sufficient rest in order to keep beating powerfully and fit even in old age. For heart health, this means: reduce stress, slow down everyday life, and balance it with regular rest breaks.

Our triple complex PerfectANTI-OXIDANT, with a unique combination of the highly effective antioxidants active hydrogen in Active H® as well as fat- and water-soluble vitamin C, astaxanthin, coenzyme Q10, zinc, glutathione, vitamins A+E, and Active H® in EyeCQ, is our daily booster for stressful times. You can learn more about the world of antioxidants and their secret star, active hydrogen, in our article Antioxidants: Our internal “rust protection”.

10. Healthy fats: omega-3 fatty acids

Another building block for a healthy heart is unsaturated fatty acids. Above all, essential omega-3 fatty acids, which belong to the polyunsaturated fatty acids, protect against hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, and other cardiovascular diseases. The omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are particularly important. You can find them mainly in nuts and fatty sea fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, or anchovies, as well as in certain algae.

To be on the safe side when it comes to omega-3 supply, we recommend vegan algae oil capsules such as our AlgaeDHA – consisting of EPA and DHA. You can find more information in our article Far from fattening – slim through fish oil.

11. Nattokinase, the insider tip for the heart and blood vessels

A real insider tip for the health of the heart and blood vessels is nattokinase. Natto, a traditional dish made from fermented cooked soybeans, has been served in Japan as an everyday dish for thousands of years and used as a remedy for cardiovascular diseases. The protein-splitting enzyme nattokinase is extracted from natto and no longer contains any soy itself. It is considered a natural blood thinner because it can dissolve blood clots and thereby improve blood flow.
Our enzyme product NattoZYM plus combines the coagulation-promoting properties of nattokinase with the blood-cleansing effects of dandelion—the ideal combination for protecting your cardiovascular system. You can learn more exciting information about the important role of enzymes in our body in our article Enzymes – sparks for health and well-being.

12. Contrast showers & Kneipp therapy for heart health

The healing effects of water treatments have been known since antiquity. The Allgäu priest Sebastian Kneipp also knew more than a hundred years ago what many studies now confirm: water applications with warm and/or cold water in the form of affusions, baths, wraps, showers, or dew and water treading can effectively lower elevated blood pressure. This is because the alternating stimuli of cold and warm water activate the metabolism, stimulate circulation, and regulate blood pressure—our heart is pleased.

You can find more information about the effect of cold-heat treatments on metabolism and fat burning in the eBook Healthy, slim and fit by Dr. Heinz Reinwald.

13. Have a hearty laugh more often

Laughter is healthy. This is especially true for our heart. Because when we laugh heartily, the heart walls demonstrably relax, breathing is activated, and the pulse rises—heart and organism receive better blood flow.
